Terms and Conditions

Reservations and Deposit: A signed application form and a deposit of $500 per person are required upon reservation to guarantee the space. We accept checks, money orders and credit cards. You must pay a 3 % surcharge if you use a credit card.

The deposit is NOT refundable in case the participant cancels the tour. The deposit is fully refundable in case Community Travel service (hereafter CTS) cancels the tour.

Final Payment: A final payment is due 60 days prior to departure. Reservation will be cancelled if final payment is not received by the due date. (Note: A final payment is due 90 days prior to departure for the tours leaving after January 1, 2018.)

Cancellation by participants:
CTS will refund the tour cost less the following penalties for cancellation. All requests for cancellation must be made in writing.

Prior to departure: Charge
91 days or more: $500/person
90 – 30 days: $1,000
29 – 15 days: $1,500
Less than 14 days or no show: 100% of selling price

Please note that we do not make any refund for unused portion of your trip after departure.
We strongly recommend that you purchase trip cancellation and medical insurance to protect yourself from any financial loss associated with your travel arrangements.

Cancellation by CTS:
We reserve the right to cancel any tour because of our concerns with respect to the safety, health or welfare of our participants or staff. If we cancel a tour, our liability is limited to a full refund of your payments to us and we will not be liable for any other costs, damages or refunds of any kind for any loss, delay, inconvenience, disappointment or expense whatsoever in such circumstances. If a tour in progress must be interrupted or canceled, our liability shall be strictly limited to refund of the recoverable cost of any unused portion of the tour.

Change of Tour Price and Itinerary:

CTS reserves the right to make reasonable adjustments to tour prices and itineraries in accordance with number of participants, currency fluctuations, the circumstances of our lodgings, transportation, local hosts, and unforeseeable events. If you are not satisfied with the change, you are allowed to cancel the tour and receive full refund of your tour payment to us. The requests for cancellation must be made in writing within 7 days from the notice of the change.

Choice of meals:
Requests for vegetarian meals and any other special needs (for example, sodium restricted diets) cannot be accommodated in group meals included in the itinerary. CTS cannot assume responsibility for ascertaining food ingredients or preparation beforehand and providing warnings, nor are we liable in case of allergic and other food reactions. CTS reserves the right to decline to accept persons with conditions beyond our scope of responsibility.

Medical/physical Issue and conditions:
Any physical, emotional or mental condition which may require special care and attention during the tour, or may require the use of special equipment must be reported to CTS at or prior to booking. If the participant fails to disclose any such conditions, CTS reserved the right to refuse him/her to take the tour. CTS reserves the right to decline any participants whose condition, in our opinion, may affect the health, safety and enjoyment of other participants.

The tour includes a 2-4 mile walking tour everyday. You will walk on paved and unpaved streets, modest slopes and stairs with or without rails. Though the tours are not rigorous adventures, you should be confident of physical mobility to negotiate the staircases of a 3 story building on foot.

Group Activities and Participants' Responsibility:
Tour leader will adhere to tour schedules to serve the best interest of all participants. In case you miss tour departures and/or lag behind group activities such as a walking tour, you are expected to catch up with the tour by your own means.

Email Communication:
CTS delivers all tour and tour-related information through email and the internet. The participant is required to have access to the internet and be able to communicate with CTS via email.

Travel Advisories and Warnings:
It is your responsibility to become informed about the most current travel advisories and warnings by referring to the U.S. State Department’s travel website at travel.state.gov or by phone at 888-407-4747.

Community Travel Service LLC's Responsibility:
The responsibility of Community Travel Service LLC (CTS) is strictly limited. As a tour operator, CTS organizes, promotes and sells tour programs consisting of certain travel services, including but not limited to, surface, air and water transportation, sightseeing excursions and hotel accommodations which CTS purchases and/or reserves from various suppliers (collectively, “Suppliers”). CTS does not own or operate any of these Suppliers. The Suppliers providing travel services for CTS’s tour programs are independent contractors, and are not agents or employees of CTS. As such, CTS is not responsible for any negligent or willful act or failure to act of any supplier or of any third party. By utilizing the travel services of the Suppliers, you agree that you will look to such Suppliers for any accident, injury, property damage, or personal loss to you or to those traveling with you, and that neither CTS nor any representative of CTS shall be liable.

Without limitation, CTS is not responsible for any injury, loss, or damage to person or property, death, delay, or inconvenience in connection with the provision of, or failure to provide, any goods or services occasioned by or resulting from – but not limited to – acts of God or force majeure, acts of war or civil unrest, insurrection or revolt, strikes or other labor activities, criminal or terrorist activities of any kind, overbooking or downgrading of accommodation, mechanical or other failure of airplanes or other means of transportation or for the failure of any transportation mechanism to arrive or depart on time, sanitation problems, lack of medical care, or for any cause beyond the direct control of CTS

Optional tours, guided or otherwise, are recommendatory and their costs are at your own expense. CTS' choices of these optional tours are made on information available when selected. CTS does not assure, however, the continuity of the circumstances prevailing when the selections were made and/or that such optional tours assure the safety, convenience and personal well-being of your person. Consequently, the undertaking of these optional tours is at your discretion and sole judgment. And when undertaking these optional tours, you are assumed to be on your own and to conduct yourself accordingly.

CTS reserves the right to decline to accept or retain any person as a member of any tour. Throughout the duration of the tour, participants are expected to conduct themselves in a reasonable and responsible manner.
